Fitness Transformation: From Excuses to eXtreme Changes

Here’s a fitness transformation story from Stephanie Guard, a student at our Ankeny, IA location:

stephanie lost 21 pounds and 14 inches during her first 10 weeks at Farrell's

Excuses.  Life is often made up of excuses.  Well, for me anyway.  Different emotional or medical excuses for why I have gained weight or why I have become out of shape and am justified for it – whether it’s a break-up, being diagnosed with hypothyroidism, or the time my house was broken into and I was assaulted.

I had been thinking about joining Farrells for a while, but wasn’t sure I wanted to commit to the price when I wasn’t sure I’d even become invested in the program.

And then a [web discount] became available.  I had no excuse to avoid signing up for the opportunity.  I feel that Farrell’s has changed me more than I even know.

Even though I didn’t want it to happen, my birthday still came around and I turned 30.  Enough is enough.  I am now done with excuses and am going to learn to take responsibility for my fitness and hold myself accountable.

30 ways Farrells has changed me over the last ten weeks and is going to continue to change me over the next 365 days and counting:

  • I feel empowered.
  • I have lost over 20 pounds and WILL make it to my goal weight without stopping.
  • I have gained confidence in myself again.
  • I am going to go skydiving for the first time.
  • I can fit into clothes from my closet that I haven’t been able to wear in a really long time!
  • I have better eating habits.
  • I have signed up for two 5Ks this Spring and the last one I did was 10 years ago!
  • I have more flexibility.
  • If I were to be attacked by a ninja, I would be able to put up a fight and defend myself.
  • I find myself smiling more.
  • I am more energetic.
  • I have become motivated.
  • I have more endurance.
  • I’m reducing my risk for heart disease and other medical conditions.
  • I have lowered my body fat percentage.
  • I have gained muscle.

So I know that this is technically an excuse, but I’ll stop before getting to 30 reasons.  I could go on and on, but am going to get close to the 500 word limit and really, the reasons to continue on with FXB are endless.
