Turn Your Resolutions into Results!
Search the news for articles about New Year’s Resolutions and you’ll discover that losing weight, getting fit, managing stress, quitting smoking and drinking less all make the top ten. You’ll also find plenty of reminders that more than 90% of resolutions fail and that Oprah doesn’t make them at all.
What about you? What needs to change? Are you living life at level 10 or are you coasting along somewhere near a 4 or 5? Do you have a written list of resolutions tucked away in your planner from a year ago waiting for a quick review and re-write or do you have a shadowy idea floating around in your head that you’re embarrassed to write down?
Write it down. Be reasonable about what you want to accomplish and make a commitment to yourself by writing out your goals.
Plan. “He who fails to plan is planning to fail.” – Winston Churchill What steps do you need to take to get from where you are now to your goal?
Take the First Step. “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” – Lao-Tzu
Accountability. Don’t go it alone! Find a community of like-minded people so you can help each other stay committed. Tell a good friend about your goal and ask them to follow up with you to help you stick to your plan.
