“I Want To Lose Weight In A Healthy Way”

Mike M. — Coach, Cedar Rapids, Ia.

“I’m getting married soon and would like to lose weight in a healthy way,” is a question that many women can relate to these days. Getting married can be both an exciting and stressful time. Brides-to-be have so much to get done in what seems like a short period of time.

But ladies, never forget that you need to take care of yourself! Making time for yourself to work out for 45 minutes each day is a wonderful stress reliever, as well as a great way to burn off those extra inches safely.

Losing weight is hard work, but it’s achievable when you apply the principles taught at Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping.

You don’t want to shock your body and drop your caloric intake dramatically, because your body won’t burn fat, it’ll hold onto it. You’ll want to consume enough calories each day, so your body doesn’t think there’s a food famine.

When you are working out, keep up the intensity! Focus on that heart-pumping cardio music, doing your best to keep up with the beat. Tighten up those abs, while at the same time executing each jab, cross, hook, upper or roundhouse to the max. Resist those bands during the return movement, getting the fullest range of motion out of each exercise and move up in band color when necessary.

You won’t bulk up, you’re toning up and burning calories. Another thing you should remember is that if you are building muscle with exercising, you’ll be losing inches and not necessarily losing weight. Muscle doesn’t weigh more than fat, but it is denser so it takes up less room. That means when you look in the mirror you’re bound to notice a difference!

You also need to continue to take care of yourself – get enough sleep each night, continue eating healthy and exercising often, so that your wedding day, you’ll have that toned look and feel strong, confident and beautiful on your special day.

Take care, have fun, stay strong and healthy!
