There Is “Life” At The End Of The Tunnel

Bob's Transformation

Bob’s Transformation

I wanted to hide under a rock, but couldn’t find a rock big enough. At my initial 10-week orientation for Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping I weighed in at almost 400 lbs.  At that point my tunnel vision became focused on a future Bob who would be healthier and stronger.

The early kickboxing workouts in the session were brutal. I found I was out of breath within minutes of the class. After each grueling workout I watched others hop right up and leave the mats. I could barely get off the mat. I felt like such a failure. Soon I realized what I was doing wrong; I wasn’t doing anything wrong! I remember thinking that if I kept up with the workouts and nutrition I would get where I’ve always wanted to be in regards to my weight. I continually had to overcome my own fear of failing and eventually conquered that fear with the help of my location’s business manager and so many others encouraging me to keep working hard.

At the end of my initial 10 weeks I was down 52 lbs. My 10-week “after” photo showed a big change. I often say my best transformation occurred from the neck up. If you look at my 10-week “before” photo compared to my “after” photo, the most noticeable difference is my smile. Not only had I transformed physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. I’m getting used to having this smile too! I work my face muscles more than any other! I’m either smiling, talking about FXB, or both! It felt good to welcome back two friends that I had dearly missed; they were my pride and confidence. A whole new level of pride and confidence sparked when I was named the male 10-week $1,000 winner. My Farrell’s family was right along my side at that evening celebration. It was so rewarding! The family atmosphere at Farrell’s is PRICELESS. I am so grateful to everyone for helping me through my transformation!!!

Nothing has changed since my initial ten weeks. I continue the nutrition program and workout 6 days a week.  I’m now privileged to be an instructor and I continue to be extremely motivated as we welcome new members and develop amazing friendships. I’m not surprised by anything I’ve been able to achieve these 62 weeks at Farrell’s. Since day one, I’ve had this silent determination. I’ve always had a vision of what I could be and my physical transformation proves this.

I’ve come far, but still have far to go. I often still see the “old me” in the mirror. Battling self-image problems is a hard habit to break. I’m probably never going to be completely satisfied and that’s not all bad. It keeps me motivated. I tell myself, “Excellence does not require perfection”.

In one year I am proud to say I have now dropped a total of 146 pounds, I am down 21% body fat, and I’ve lost a total of 55 inches off my body. My number one goal is to just be the absolute best Bob I can be. What I’ve accomplished is not impossible. Anyone out there could do as well or better by following the Farrell’s nutrition and workout program with 100% dedication.

I’m not telling this story to pat myself on the back. I am simply hoping to inspire others. The sacrifices you will make will be worth it! It hurts to look at my old pictures, but I still share. I wasn’t proud of my outward appearance, but the real embarrassment for me comes in knowing that I was wasting my life chained to my shame. It’s amazing how people can make excuses without ever trying. I tried the easy way but of course it didn’t work. I developed type 2 diabetes as a result of my previous unhealthy lifestyle.  Many people say activity has risks. However, inactivity and not taking care of yourself has risks too. I made excuses, but yet I always wanted better of myself. Wishing for it and working for it are two different things. Thanks to joining FXB, I’ve added chapters to my life story. I’ll risk the potential of a sore shoulder any day over letting diabetes kill me. I am no longer on medication, nor do I show any signs of diabetes. I’ve managed this with nutrition and exercise alone. Why pay a doctor just to tell you to exercise and eat right? Personally, I’ll pay for a membership to use the medicine ball instead of filling a medicine cabinet.

Before joining Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping I know I wasn’t applying my knowledge of exercise and nutrition and at some point I feel I had lost my work ethic. I am glad I found out the secret of FXB that so many others had also found. That secret was THAT THERE IS NO SECRET! Work hard and follow the program and you will see results.

Most of you don’t have as far to go as I did in regards to weight loss and I commend you for not letting your own health spiral away from you as I did.  Whatever your goals, I have no doubt that your story can be awesome and with hard work and determination the Farrell’s program will get you there. My story is not yet finished and my transformation continues.  The following images depict the actual results of one of our members.  Individual results may vary.
