The Healthiest I’ve Been Thanks to Farrell’s
All my life I have struggled with maintaining a healthy weight. During high school sports I was weighing in at 200 lbs. and after college my weight slowly increased to the max of 290 lbs. When I turned 40 I realized that I wanted to make sure that I was there for my daughter and hopefully any grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I decided that I needed at least another 40 years and knew that wasn’t likely to happen with the shape I was in. I started working out in spurts here and there, mostly riding my exercise bike, but after a few weeks I’d give up on it. I’d start up again after a month or two, but would quit again after a few weeks. This cycle continued on for almost 2 years. I knew that if I was going to be healthy I needed more than exercise alone. I needed to change my eating lifestyle as well.
That’s when I heard of Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping. A friend of mine was doing the 10-week program at Farrell’s and was telling me how much she really enjoyed the program. She said that not only did it provide a great physical workout but there was a nutrition plan as well. I decided that Farrell’s was going to be the program that would transform my body and change my eating habits. I knew it was going to take hard work, determination and a lot of self-control to reach my goals, but I was ready for this challenge and change.
The 10-week session was great! I was sore and tired for the first few weeks, but I still felt better than I had in a long time. I found that the instructor-led group setting was exactly what I needed. Without having to figure out the workouts for myself I was able to concentrate on giving my level 10 every workout. The nutrition, once I got into a routine, became much easier than I first thought. My fellow session mates, FIT members, coaches, and instructors were wonderful, everyone encouraging and pushing each other was the accountability I needed. At the end of my session I had lost 26 lbs, 8 total inches, and took 2 minutes off my mile run.
I have been a FIT Member for nine months now and continue to enjoy the Farrell’s experience. I look forward to going to the gym every day and seeing how much farther I can push my level 10. I have reached my initial goal of getting back to 200 lbs., lost 72 lbs., removed 28 total inches off my body, reduced my body fat percentage by 10%, and I am flexible enough to be able to bend at the waist and touch my toes. Not only has my body been transformed, but because of the nutrition change, I feel the healthiest I have been in my entire life.
