My Confidence Grows with Every Challenge at Farrell’s
I started FXB so I could continue with my weight loss goals. I had been working out on my own for a while before starting. I had some success, but I was constantly struggling with motivation and personnel accountability. I stopped going to the gym altogether after spending many months stuck in a weight loss plateau. It was at this point that I heard about Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping. I decided this would be a good opportunity to try something new. Putting gloves on and hitting a heavy bag also sounded like a fun time.
I have seen so many changes over my time at FXB that it will be hard to list them all. The biggest thing I gained was an increase in confidence. When I started FXB, I was the quiet guy in the corner who didn’t talk much. I came to class and did the workouts hoping that nobody would notice me. My overall self-image was very low at this time. With each 10 weeks I was amazed at how much progress I made. Being able to set fitness goals, and also achieve them, is a great experience. My confidence grew with each challenge that I overcame. Whether that challenge was a single workout or my first 5k run. The old me would never believe that I would someday become a Farrell’s instructor, or that I would participate in multiple 5k runs. He especially wouldn’t join a Relay Iowa Team. During my time at Farrell’s I have lost 100 lbs. and 10% body fat. I have found great success with this program and I am thankful for everyone who has been part of my journey.
The workouts are great, but the biggest benefit of this program is the community. The support of the instructors, coaches, and other members is what keeps me motivated on a daily basis. You learn very quickly that you are not doing this alone. Farrell’s is a great place for a group of people to come together and work to achieve their fitness goals.
My best memory so far at Farrell’s would be when I was talked into running my first organized 5k. I have never been a strong runner. When I first started Farrell’s I could only go a couple of blocks before I had to stop. At this time I didn’t run outside of the 1-mile runs for 10 week testing. I didn’t think a 5k would be possible. It took multiple people asking before I finally caved and decided to join. What really impressed me about this experience is that those same people decided to spend the next 6 weeks training with me. They scheduled runs and stayed with me through the whole experience. With their help I went from barely being able to run a mile to finishing a 5k in 30 minutes. Since then I have run multiple races with the same group of people. I will also be running Relay Iowa with them.
The Farrell’s program offers great workouts, education on healthy eating habits, and coaches/instructors that will help guide each member. Add in a great community of health-minded people, and you have a recipe for success. If you are willing to work, this program can guarantee you a Level 10 experience!
