From Back Injury to Farrell’s FIT Member!
I was very reluctant and nervous to sign up for the Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping 10-week session. My husband wanted for us both to join, but I kept coming up with excuses about how we were too busy or we just couldn’t afford it at the time. Finally, in December of 2013, we both decided that this would be our Christmas presents to each other. I would start during the Winter 2014 session and he would start the following session, in the Spring of 2014.
We didn’t want to start together during the same session because we knew the program would be intense, and we have two young kids that keep us very busy as well. About three days after I signed up and paid online, I hurt my back. I was picking up my youngest son, and didn’t even think about picking him up correctly, but I felt something in my back that wasn’t quite right and it hurt immediately. Long story short, I had to delay the start of my journey and had back surgery for a torn disc in February 2014. My husband then decided to start in January in my place for the beginning of the Winter session. I in turn planned on starting in April, as long as my back was recovered enough. I did decide that I was going to start on the nutrition plan with my husband, or at least try my best, so that I could get a jumpstart on the nutrition portion of the program.
My husband completed his 10-week session and then signed up as a FIT member. Soon it became my turn to start the 10-week session. I was still nervous, even more so since I was concerned about my back injury. I did not want to experience a re-injury.
Shortly into the program the nervousness soon went away and I fell in love with the program. It has changed me in so many ways. I’m a little more outgoing and way more confident than before the program. I started to get compliments around the 5-week mark during the 10-week session. That helped my confidence build even more.
Fast forward to almost two years later and my two young boys are now very used to both of their parents working out. My husband and I have a good schedule now, he works out in the early morning and I go in the afternoon after work. It’s a great balance and something we both enjoy!
I’m so glad I decided to take a chance and change my life. During my 10-week testing, I lost over 11 pounds and 9 inches off my body, and dropped around 4 clothing sizes! I also signed up for the one-year challenge and came just short of my goal of losing 20 pounds! I’ve met so many new friends at Farrell’s and we incorporate our own private challenges to keep everyone motivated and continue to have fun. We all have one thing in common – we love Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping and we want to have fun while losing weight and inches, and we continue to only grow stronger.
My husband and I recently went on the Farrell’s by the Sea trip in April 2015. I was determined to wear a bikini and made that my goal before the trip! I’m happy to say that I did and I did not buy one but instead bought three of them! It was so nice to meet other FXB members from all over the United States. The best thing I heard on the trip, was that everyone said their FXB location was the best. Testament of how wonderful the program is as we always say that C-Street in Cedar Rapids is the best! The trip was such a great experience! Working out on the beach daily, having fun and socializing in the afternoon/evening.
In the end, FXB has changed me to be a better mom, friend and wife. I feel as if I am just a better person in general with the changes and confidence that the programs has given me . I can’t wait to see what the next year brings as I continue working on my transformation.
