Transformation For a Transplant
My name is Tracy S. and this story is about my husband Alex and my twin boys Michael and Henry. My journey began last year on the 20th of November. My husband had just gone though his evaluation to be placed on the National organ transplant list for a kidney transplant. This came about because Alex had been dealing with long-term kidney disease and had reached the point of needing the transplant. I called my doctor to find out my blood type so I could begin the journey to be his living donor. I was told that I was going to have to lose 25 pounds before I could begin testing. I downloaded the MyFitnessPal app and bought a Fitbit and it was on!
I then did the glucose test and failed. I was told I had to lose another 25 pounds before I could do the glucose test again. I had hit a wall with my weight loss and I had a couple of friends that told me that Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping might just be the answer to get me to where I needed so that I could test again. I took the leap of faith and joined the 10-week session.
At 5-week testing I received the news that I was waiting for! I had gotten to the weight and body fat I needed to achieve so that I could test again. This time I killed it! By the time we got to the surgery date I had lost 50 pounds.
On July 7th, 2015 my husband and I checked in to Clarkson for kidney transplant surgery. It was the hardest recovery I had ever been through, but all along I knew that I had nine weeks and then I could go back to my friends at Farrell’s that had been supporting me along this journey. So for me it’s been a crazy ride, but not one I would change one minute of and I cannot thank the staff, my coaches and friends at FXB LaVista enough!
I hope someday I can help someone that was like me get to the ultimate goal they are working for!
