I Have Yet to Miss One Day of Class at Farrell’s!
I have always been overweight. I hit my highest weight at the age of 17 being 272 pounds and only 5 feet tall. High school was not so much fun. You name it I had tried everything by that age and nothing worked. My senior year in high school I started Nutri System and lost 90 pounds. Just as I was graduating high school they closed and I started to gain it all back. They had yet to teach me how to eat on my own.
This continued on, losing, gaining and losing again. In 2001, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, something else that would plague me for years to come having to stop working out due to pain. The only good thing is I never went above my highest weight of 272 pounds. By 2010 I had enough. I had been married for nine years, had two beautiful daughters, and their father and I were both obese and really could not play with them as we were too tired and we physically could not do it.
By February 2010, with the bad economy and everything else we had decided to leave California and see if we could make a fresh start in Bellevue, NE. With faith and hope from my husband’s generous family we made the move in June. We decided we were not only moving to obtain financial stability, but we had to change our lives for our health to be able to be active with the kids and be here when they grew up.
I joined a weight-loss program at worked and plugged at it for two years losing 50 pounds and starting to gain it all back. I kept seeing the advertisements for Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping, and decided this was it. If this program did not work then I would look into having surgery; the weight needed to come off.
I signed up for Farrell’s for the 2014 Fall Session and told my husband I was not missing one class. If I was doing the program it was getting my “all” no matter what it took. I weighed in at 228 pounds. The first day of class I thought to myself, “what have I done?” During the 10-week program I lost 18 pounds. During that time I did the Corporate Cup, a local 10k. I had participated the year before and just by doing Farrell’s, I decreased my time by 20 minutes!

I have been doing Farrell’s ever since and a year and a half later I have yet to miss one day of class. I view my workout as an appointment, making it a priority in my life, not an option. I am down to 182 pounds and in the best shape of my life. I am getting ready to train for the Lincoln half marathon. I have my ups and downs, doing my best to follow the nutrition program. Sometimes doing what I am supposed to and not at other times. I look at it this way – the workouts are the easy part, the food is the challenge. So if I am at class every day giving it my level 10, I am halfway there.
