Farrell’s is a Life-Changer!

In the beginning I started Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping to lose weight. I had trouble losing weight and keeping it off. I had tried all of the “at home” programs like P90x, Insanity, 10 Minute Trainer, you name it, I probably tried it. I tried Adkins, The ABS Diet, even Weight Watchers. Yes, they would work, but they were hard to stick with. I didn’t have what I would call a true support structure. I had heard ads for Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping on the radio and thought maybe I should give that a try. But again, my motivation to actually pursue change was lacking. I was also struggling in life. I got divorced in 2009 and had custody of my daughters. I was trying to “find myself” in this new life and started drinking heavily and caring only about the welfare of my daughters and not myself. We eventually moved to be closer to the girls’ mother and my work, upon their request.

In December 2014, after a long night and a lot of beer, I woke up for work feeling “fine” and decided I HAD to change. I quit drinking cold turkey. Although, I found myself turning to food as a replacement for the alcohol. I was gaining weight exponentially. So much so, that one night I saw my silhouette and turned to my youngest daughter and asked “Do I look pregnant to you?” To which she replied, “ No dad, you don’t look pregnant, you’re a boy! You’re just… Hefty”. I hugged her, gave her a kiss and told her I loved her. The whole time completely ashamed of myself and what I had become. Ironically, the very next day as I walked into work a co-worker says to me, “Darn Josh, you’re getting FAT!”. A few weeks passed and I heard the ad for Farrell’s again. With my daughter and co-worker still fresh on my mind I immediately pulled over and called to sign up. I was signed up for the 5 a.m. class, figuring this would be yet another motivator to stay sober.

I have seen many changes since my time with Farrell’s. I have accomplished things I would have never even thought of trying, let alone actually completing. I have become an instructor for the program, I am now in front of the class, proud of myself and what I have accomplished. In June of 2015 I competed in my first triathlon, have competed in obstacle course races, and ran in 5K’s. The biggest change of all is that I have remained sober and have motivated others in my life to pursue change of their own.

Without Farrell’s I wouldn’t be the man I am today. Not only has the program worked for me to lose weight, but I have gained a confidence I never thought possible. I have gained numerous friends that I actually consider family. As I have heard said, Farrell’s is so much more than a weight-loss program. It is a life changer, there is nothing else like it.

My most memorable moments are going shopping for new clothes for the first time, because my old ones were falling off; watching new people start the program, meeting and exceeding their goals. Not only completing the triathlon, but doing it in a faster time than the gym owner. And being called “that buff guy” by a teen FXB participant.

Why should someone else join Farrell’s? It is so much more than a weight-loss program. Farrell’s has a support structure like no other program. There are no “meat heads”, all the instructors, coaches, managers and even the owners participated in the program. We all have our own stories of our transformations, and our own struggles. But we help and motivate each other in a way no other program can.
