I Love the Consistency of the Farrell’s Program!

Lisa and JasonI decided to sign-up for Farrell’s on Black Friday of 2014. I needed to lose weight. I refused to buy yet another size up in my clothes. I tend to be shy initially and quite reserved. I convinced my best friend to do it with me. Together we would keep each other accountable. Plus, I am an accountant and there is NO WAY I was going to waste my money.

Since I started Farrell’s in January 2015, I have lost a little over 40 lbs. I have managed to go down four pant sizes. I stopped wearing baggy clothes that hide my shape and started buying clothes that would actually show it off a little – this is completely outside of my comfort zone. I have more energy and confidence. I can see more definition in my muscles as well. I am still working on toning them up more, but I can actually see a muscle when I flex! I get SO many compliments about how great I look. I have noticed that I can’t eat near the junk I used to. When I splurge on something I usually feel horrible afterwards or I can’t even finish that piece of cake, etc. You definitely think twice before you eat unhealthy food. I was on a low dose of a cholesterol medicine, which I no longer need either. Diet and exercise play such a HUGE part in our lives. We all know it deep down, but sometimes we need to see some small results to keep pushing ourselves.

I love the consistency of the program. You go every night at the same time. Being an accountant, this works very well with my structured personality. Other programs don’t offer the classes you might choose to go to at the same time so you might only go to a guided class once a week. It’s too easy to skip out or be lax when it isn’t “instructed.” I love the friendly faces and how everyone asks where you were if you didn’t make it to class the night before for one reason or another. It gives you both strength training and cardiovascular activity so you get the full benefits of working out. If left on my own, I would focus on cardiovascular as always.

I remember Lisa Livingston punchingwalking into my first day of Farrell’s and was scared to death even though I know I knew at least one person. We quickly became friends with our entire class. We were the first 5:30 class in our location. We had a great time at the end of the year celebration. I still see some of them at Farrell’s eight months later.

I started coaching right after my 10-week session. I wanted to help other people feel comfortable. If I could do it, anyone could. I am currently starting my third round of coaching and even contemplating moving on to instructing.

Farrell’s lets you exercise at your pace. If you can’t do an exercise, modify it. If you aren’t feeling quite up to par that day, then do what you can do. It is a change in lifestyle that will help you get results if you stick with it.
