Farrell’s Isn’t Your Normal Gym, It’s Much More!

I turned 36 in February of 2016 and I can say that I am now the healthiest I’ve ever been and in the best physical condition of my life. I started Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping in the summer session of 2011 and I would have never imagined that I would still be with the program five years later. I was “that guy” who thought he was in pretty decent shape, but in reality that wasn’t the case at all. I went to the gym a few days a week to throw around some weights but as soon as I walked out the door that was it. I was missing some of the most important pieces to the “health and fitness” puzzle and I’ve found all of those missing pieces at Farrell’s.

In March of 2010, my wife and I expanded our family and now had the responsibility of a new son in our lives. I had reached an all-time high of happiness for our family, but also by the end of 2010 I was at an all-time high weighing in at 293 pounds. This was the moment that I realized I was not in as good of shape as I thought I had been in and that I realized I needed to make some changes. Over the next several months I tried several different workout DVD’s, tried some new things at the gym, and started eating more chicken (because I read this was good for you). I managed to lose about 30 pounds over that time frame but it was more like a yo-yo, with all of the gains and losses. I was still weighing in the 260’s and I knew that wasn’t where I wanted to be.

Every day as I made the drive to and from work I would pass this place called Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping and I had no idea what it was. Farrell’s NW is conveniently located about two blocks from my house, but it took me hearing about it on the radio to check it out. I called the number listed and one of the first questions I had was along the lines of “Do guys do this or is it just for girls?” It didn’t take much convincing for me to sign up for the next session. At my initial check in for the program my weight was down to 265 lbs. and my body fat percentage was at 32.2%. During my first ten weeks I saw some positive changes. I lost weight, body fat, increased my pushups, sit ups, and took some time off my mile. More important than my physical stats I learned that Farrell’s wasn’t your normal gym. I was hooked and had no reason not to keep with the program.

Individual results may vary.

Over the past five years I have become addicted to this program. I love it and am very passionate about it. I have seen my weight drop and my body fat percentage hit the single digits. This is something that I would have never thought possible. The missing pieces to the “health and fitness” puzzle that I have found are the accountability factor, team work, nutrition, and the environment. I have been instructing and coaching for a couple of years now and it doesn’t get old. I love knowing how this program has worked for me, and love being a part of, and seeing others experience the same types of changes that I have.  Surrounding yourself with positive, motivating, encouraging, strong, and supportive people daily is amazing and that’s what FXB Northwest and my family are for me. I look forward to achieving my future personal goals and helping other members achieve their goals.
