From Physical Therapy to Kickboxing at Farrell’s

Lindsay R. Farrell's Bettendorf IAFarrell’s has provided a new lifestyle for my family and I. The workouts are six days a week and has created a new routine for our family. I am a huge martial arts fan and the strength training adds a necessary component to my workouts. The nutrition program is easy-to-follow and effective. I never thought that exercise and nutrition would mean as much to me as it does today. I used to live by the philosophy, “I workout, so I can eat whatever I want.” Farrell’s taught me that it’s a whole package for a healthy and happy life. Farrell’s means renewed strength and mental clarity. It means energy and accomplishment. It means being the best I can be, all the time. Farrell’s has helped me overcome some major setbacks through their great support and encouragement.

In 10 weeks, I accomplished 60 workouts in a row! I increased my push-ups from 12 to 37 and my sit-ups from 24 to 42. In 5 weeks, I was able to run a mile for the first time since a knee dislocation over a year ago. In 10 weeks, I cut a minute off my run time.* I have more energy and have become more positive in my daily life. Farrell’s has transformed my body and my confidence. It’s given me renewed energy for my abilities and strength. I’ve made new friends and I’m excited to lead others on their new journey to health! I am most proud of my push-ups. I went from 12 push-ups to 37 push-ups in 10 weeks!

In 2006, during my senior year of high school I had knee surgery to correct stretched ligaments. I spent several months in physical therapy to get full motion back in my knee and missed my final year of volleyball. During college, I had several good years of activity and sports. In 2015, I decided to try kickboxing at a local gym and ended up dislocating my “good” knee. I spent another several months in physical therapy, trying to get motion back in my knee. I struggled with depression because I thought that physical activity beyond walking was a long shot. I knew that I needed strength, but couldn’t find the motivation to start. When Farrell’s came to town, I was concerned about aggravating my old injuries. Pete assured me that the modifications for the exercises would help get me started. I started my first kickboxing class with a lot of reservations, but I finished. That small step gave me hope that I wasn’t out yet. I went to class every day. I set small goals for myself and resolved to attend every single class during that 10-week session. I’m stronger, more fit, and healthier since I started my 10-week challenge. It was the best decision!

Lindsay R and FriendI love the community at Farrell’s. I work with the same team every day at 6 AM. There is accountability and support with the instructors, coaches, and my team. The workouts are challenging and attainable. I am seeing results with each week I commit myself to the program. As a family, we were eating out a lot before I started Farrell’s. At the nutrition seminar, Pete explained the elements of a good diet and challenged us to make it part of our lifestyle. I came home immediately and started cooking more. We meal plan at the beginning of the week and make sure our family is on-board. It’s hard to feed yourself healthy, when the kids are eating junk. We made a commitment as a family and are definitely seeing the results. Farrell’s has provided a means to a healthier and happier routine for my entire family.

I recommend this program because it will change your life! It’s a challenge to make you healthy and keep you accountable to those around you. Where do you see yourself down the road? I am much closer to a better me than I was before the 10 weeks began. I have friends that have helped me on the path to success and we’re having fun while we do it!
