From Farrell’s to Mrs. USA Universal & National Fitness Winner!
I was at the worst point I’d ever been physically and needed an environment that was community, welcoming and that would push me to be better.
Since beginning Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping, the obvious change would be that I would now consider myself a physically fit athlete. My current body fat percentage is 12.5% and I love to exercise! I owe that to Farrell’s. When I wanted to give up, when I wanted to quit, I always had a coach or a FIT student there to motivate me, build me up, and push me to be better. They held me accountable. I have muscle tone! I never had muscle tone before. I have also gained a new family. When my daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia in March of 2017, my Farrell’s fitness family rallied! We received hundreds of dollars in gift cards from member s and they all came together to purchase shirts for my daughter—“Ava’s Army.” The gym collectively did an “Ava Day” where everyone wore her favorite colors, made sparkly signs for her and wore their “Ava’s Army” shirts. It really is a family. We support one another on and off the mat. I have made some of my best friends from Farrell’s and have gained a family.
I would not have won Mrs. USA Universal or the overall fitness award without this program! The great thing about the Farrell’s strength training and kickboxing workouts is that you can modify everything to your own “LEVEL 10.” You can push yourself as hard as you want to reach your own individual goals. As I was training for Mrs. USA I was working out alongside folks in their first weeks of the program and having a blast doing it. It’s all about accountability, support, and community. When I see someone drop to their knees-I push them to do more than they feel like they can do. When instructors or students see me slowing down, they remind me of my big goals I’ve set for myself! I will be heading to London in September to compete internationally for Mrs. Universal and I am utilizing Farrell’s to get me there—mentally and physically.
There are so many memorable moments at Farrell’s! I have been with Farrell’s for four and a half years and have had more memories than I can count. My three best friends were ladies I met on the mats at Farrell’s and we bonded over kickboxing! The “Ava Day” that they did for my daughter, the watch parties they had while I was competing at Mrs. USA Universal, the love and support they’ve shown for my family and I as we’ve gone through the toughest year of our lives. We do fun themed days, which always make for fun memories, Christmas themed workouts, FIT challenges and more. It’s such a fun place to be and I look forward to going to class there every day!
We all start somewhere. Everyone has day one. The great thing about Farrell’s is that we embrace your day one just as much as day 365 and beyond! We are all about being healthy and the best versions of ourselves that we can be! It’s FUN! It’s empowerment through nutrition. It’s a gym and fitness program that makes you feel like you are just exercising with friends.
For those who are struggling to maintain or achieve your results, I have been there! We all have moments where we waiver a bit—and that’s okay. What’s important is that you keep going, stay focused and remember that when it’s hard, you have an army behind you to support you! If you need nutrition help, motivation to get to the gym or support while you’re there—Farrell’s is there to help. We all have ups and downs based on what’s going on in our personal lives, that’s okay, that’s why Farrell’s is there!
In pageantry I have always been one of the heavier girls. My goal this year heading to Mrs. USA Universal was to be the healthiest, most fit version of myself that I could be. Not only did I achieve that at 11% body fat because of Farrell’s, but I was in the best mental place I’d ever been in, because of the support and love I received. I walked away not only as Mrs. USA Universal, but as the national fitness winner as well—never in a million years did I imagine that was possible, but it was truly thanks to Farrell’s!
